CORE MBA frm clg affilated to ptu
m pharm ftm ptu affilated clg
    plz guide me sir

    • Dear Pragya,

      1. Pharma MBA will give you an advantage in the entry into Pharmaceuctical industry but at the same time also restricts you in one industry .
      2. Core MBA will give you broader horizons into different industry and it depend son your aptitude to enter into the industry you like
      3. M.Pharm will again restrict you towards the Pharma industry. Scope includes teaching, research, quality control , DRA, QA etc.

You have to decide between these three based on your choice, interest area and the liking for the subject

      Hope I have answered you

      Cheers

  15. So all these colleges be it sies or nmims they do not garantee placements do they?… im a resident of mumbai and was thinking to pursuing mba in either of these colleges ..
also there is another college….. ies managment colg offering pharmaceutical and healthcare mba is it same as pharma mba. There was another news in the news paper that mba seats have been empty for last few academic years (not totally empty but still not many students ) is it true?

    • No college gives 100% placement guarrantee. its just the probability of selection increases. It totally depends on your potential in the final selection.College brand name matters in bringing the company in the campus but rest depend son you..

  19. Dear sir i was into insurance sector for a while i mean a year i wanted to do mba what is the minimal score required in cat cmat xat or atma to get into a good college in mumbai is the selection process clean without donations .i am thinking of taking gre classes for mba and take the maharastra cet test …. because cat and cmat have too much of mathematics do pharma people …. get thru cat and cmat ……??????

    • Hi David,

In CAT it is Percentile Basis-Good college require 85% + Percentile. IIMs cutoff startes at 99% for general category.

Selection process is clean. You will have to appear and crack the written examination .

Mathematics level is of 10th class requires little speed which can be enhanced through practice and coaching.

Various Pharma people are doing MBA (there is no doubt on that).

keeping above sectors in mind which pharma mba course should i select and which specilizations and from which institute?

    • There is no need of a Pharma MBA to get job in qc testing, retail medical shop.

Pharma MBA provides opportunity in Sales & Marketing profile mostly. The are where you want the job will be fulfilled through M.Pharma

      Cheers,

    Sir pls mail me

    • Dear Durgesh,

Both the fields are good. It depends on your inclination and the interest area. MBA will offer you jobs from Sales & Marketing to Analytics whereas M.Pharma will have scope and opportunity from teaching to industry ( in Production, research etc).Package again is not fixed. It differs from college to college .

  46. Sir,
I have 2 years of experience in the IT industry and I am currently employed as a System engineer with a top MNC. However I want to change and get a management profile, I had taken the Nmat 2015 this year in November and scored 181. I was wondering about the scope of doing MBA in pharmaceutical management as I have no idea about the pharmaceutical industry and my main concern is the work profile and package that I will be offered with respect to the relevance of my work experience.

    • Dear Abhishek,

The Scope of MBA Pharma has been mentioned in the above write up completely.

Work profile will mostly be oriented towards Sales & Marketing .

Package varies from company to company and profile to profile.

Overall NMIMS is a good brand to enter .

  50. Hellow sir i have cmoltd my b.pharm, i m from gujrat. I want to do distance pharma mba course, which university or college in gujrat should be valueble for me? Sir i have financial problem if i do pharma mba in any small college will it be helpfull for my carrier? And after doing pharma mba which department job whould be stable i mean without travelling but steady job? Pls rply soon

    • Any MBA from an unknown college won’t add any value. IF its a distance MBA then the importance will again go down.

Pharma MBA will offer more opportunities in Sales & Marketing profile and this involves quite a lot of travelling.

You must explore M.Pharma in this case

  51. WHICH COURSE WILL BE MORE BENEFIT ME IN PHARMA INDUSTRY AND IN OTHER INDUSTRY…?

    Pharma Retail Management
    Pharmaceutical Management
    Pharma Human Resource Management

  52. Sir I had done B Pharmacy in 2012, I am now working as Medical Reprensentative in Johnson & Johnson, also worked for 2 years in Abbott. Total experience 3 years, should I leave the job and do Pharmaceutical MBA . Please guide me.

    • Hello,

Sales experience is always helpful in MBA. Doing an MBA will add value to your experience, you will have to evaluate what you want to do-IF you want to continue doing good in sales, I would not suggest you to do MBA.If you want to enter into marketing-MBA will help.

      Cheers
      Kumud Kandpal

    • Dear Meghna,

MBA degree is offered by Universities while PGDM is offered by institutes. However the course content is the same.

Both the colleges are good. Mumbai based college will have higher chances of placing students being in the pharma hub which is mumbai

  55. hello sir.

i am a mbbs student final year. i want to open a pharmaceutical company. and i dont know where to start with. i came up with ur thread. as i have read somewhere that to open a company u need to have experience under this field. so if i do mba pharma will it be helpfull? any benifit for my company? and what course should i do for this sir? please guide me. i am very new to all this and i am struck between mbbs and and mba. waiting for ur reply sir.

    • Dear Neetu,

Its a great thing to see that you are passionate about opening a pharma company . I must appreciate the vision you are carrying.

Opening a company doesn’t need an MBA degree. Your MBBS degree will be helpful certainly but its not necessary to have an MBA to start a company. MBA will streamline your thoughts and increase your understanding on the subject. There is no course needed for it. Some of the college dropouts have built billion dollar companies. You just need to have a great idea. A doctor running a pharma company is the best thing that can happen for the industry.
      Capital is indeed needed.

      Everyone starts from ground zero.

      Best wishes

I am studying b.pharm 3rd yr in hyd. I wanted to do pharma mba and settle as project manager in clinical trials. do we have any govt jobs for project manager in govt industries

    • Dear Prathyusha,

Pharma Management won’t be of much help in career scope towards Clinial trials. The course is much more focused towards Sales and Marketing profile in the Pharma industry.

      regards,
      Kumud Kandpal

    • Prathyusha, govt job requiring Sales and Marketing professional at managerial level will have scope but at Pharmacist level- there seems no scope for MBA qualification
      Cheers!!

    • As of now, To my understanding and knowledge, more opportunities are in private sector than in government sector

      regards
      Kumud Kandpal

Pharma MBA will have more opportunities in Marketing, Sales, Consulting, Analytics etc. Salary wise both are a goo d option. You need to decide where you want to see yourself.

      Kumud Kandpal

  60. Hi sir.I’ve completed my MBBS and plan on taking an Mba. Should I go.for a usual MBA or a pharma MBA? Also what are my scopes after completing an MBA??

What are the current packages and the placement scenario for NMIMS? Or doing a general mba would be a better option for me? Kindly let me know. Thanks

    • Purva, Its good that you are preparing for CAT.Pharma MBA NMIMS will be a good option keeping in mind your graduation specialisation. If you get through other colleges through CAT- do try them also , the make a choice in choosing MBA depending on your interest and the options available.

Package details vary every year. You can read the article once again. Broader range is mentioned

I am doing BDS(bachelor in dental surgery)
am I eligible for GPAT after completing my BDS

I also wanna ask that which one would be better after BDS
MBA in hospital management or MBA in pharmaceuticals

    which one have better scope???

    • Iam not sure if you are eligible for GPAT or not. Please check the website for that. MBA hospital management will be a good option from the point of view of managing a particular hospital. 67. Hi sir
This is sangeetha from Tamilnadu. I’m doing my final year in b.pharmacy. I’m confused about which course should I prefer for further studies. So kindly help me choose which one is better either my.pharm or mba in PHARMACY. Which would be better for girls nd Which field in MBA PHARMACEUTICAL MANAGEMENT will be the highest paid or in other words values the most ?

    • Sangeetha,
Choosing the stream is your own decision influenced by your interest. Both the options have good scope in future. MBA pharmaceuticla management is a complete course- there is no specialisation further in that. MBA pharma might involve the sales stint . M.Pharma will have jobs in teaching, production. QA, QC, regulatory. You have to decide . Pay packages are equally good in both the stream.

      Wishes,
      Kumud KAndpal

  68. Hello sir,

I’m advised to join coaching for CAT exam preparations, will it help or i should prepare at home??

    • MBA in any of the options will be good.Since you are having graduation in Pharma, MBA Pharma will be a good option to choose. You can take the coaching of CAT, there is no harm in that. Appear for various entrance examinations and then evaluate your performance. If you can prepare at home, nothing like that.

      Regards,
      Kumud Kandpal

    • Pritesh, there is a lot of opportunities in pharma. You can plan your pharmacy graduation followed by masters in this field

  84. Sir,
I recently done my bachelors of pharmacy from amity university and wants to go for masters.

Please sir guide me or suggest some advice.

    • Dear Naveen,

MBA in Pharma and M.Pharma are two different domains in the same industry. Make up your mind what you want to do in your career. M.Pharma and MBA can’t be compared. Both have their own scope in the industry.

Regarding placement of Jamia, you will have to do a cross checking from the students who have passed out from the institute. than you will get better idea.
      Regards,
      Kumud Kandpal

I am planning to pursue Part time OR Executive MBA from reputed colleges in Mumbai. I have gone through the Executive MBA pharmaceutical management programme in NMIMS. Thus, I have various queries in mind and hope that you will guide me. Please can you inform me about the NMIMS recruitment procedure and from where can I get study material for the same as it is an entrance test not based on NMAT. Also, i am planning to boost my career so what are the minimum salary packages offered by them and do they guarantee any sort of placements in NMIMS after completion of Executive- MBA PHARMACEUTICAL MANAGEMENT.
Will it be helpful to just undergo normal part time mba or executive mba in pharmaceutical management will be added advantage…?
Which other colleges in mumbai offer such courses and what will be your suggestion on that.

    Sir please reply.

    Await your response. Thank you.

    • Dear Rahul,

Since you already have experience of 3 years. Executive MBA would be of a great advantage . regarding MBA in NMIMS, please visit their website and whatever is mentioned, do follow that since things changes on an yearly basis. Its advisable to follow that.

There are not many colleges in Mumbai which offers Executive MBA in Pharma

      Best Wishes

  104. Dear sir,I did B.pharmacy.I just graduated. i got call from NMIMS MUMBAI for Pharma-mba.
But i think that its teaches MBA students MR job.Can you see following from their website –
Every week , one full day is devoted to field work in every trimester involving visits to Doctors, Retailers, Patients and wholesalers. Total Field work exceeds 60 hours and requires an additional 20 hours of data analysis. In addition, students are required to devote at least 60 hours per week for academics.

Why they are giving MR’s training to managers? Is Pharma-mba from NMIMS good ?

    • Dear Pratikk,

MBA i snot only sitting in office. For knowing the ground reality eyes on ground is needed. hence the course is tailored accordingly.

  105. sir i am B pharm final year student which is better for me pharma MBA or core MBA otherwise i chose the core MBA then which section is better in core MBA

    • Dear Preeti,

Both are good. Pharma MBA gives more opportunities in Pharma sector only. General MBA gives more options w.r.t other industries .

      Kumud KAndpal

    • Dear Suman,

General MBA will also help. In pharma sector there is no specialized MBA course in the segment where you are working.

      Regards,

    Thankyou

    • Dear Ayushi,

A genuine concern you have while pursuing your pharmacy. Both have good scope however core mba provides you more access and opportunities to different sectors and not only pharma. Pharma MBA will however be more specialised into pharmaceutical industry. Packages differ from colleges to colleges and varies from individual to individual.

      Best wishes
      Kumud Kandpal

      Kumud

    • Dear Sandeep,
MBA in HR and D. Pharma can not be compared!!

  124. Hello Sir,
I am doing MBA TECH in chemical engineering which is a 5 year course where MBA and Engineering are combined in Mukesh Patel, NMIMS. I am in 4th year now and really want to work in the pharma industry but not in the technical field that is not in plants. So is marketing in pharma good option and what other masters or any specialization can be done to work in pharma industry after my current course in any management field only which doesn’t land me in a plant. Can you please send me your email id too?

    • Dear Param,

Since you are doing MBA tech in chemical your scope is bound to be more in technical field.

Iam not sure whether pharma industry will have open arms to you in sales and marketing.

Sales and marketing is a good option. Do present your interest to the companies while presenting yourself in the placements.

      BR,
      Kumud Kandpal

      • Thank you so much Sir. But actually i dont really want to get in the technical field after my 5th year that is dont want to opt for plant jobs or even in QA, QC,R&D etc. But i really want to stay in the pharma field in management section, and i even want to do specialization in 1 field after my 5th year. How is healthcare management as an option for masters and also scope pf masters in any management field after my 5th year?

  125. Hello sir, currently i am doing job in Pharmacovigilance but i want to go for Pharma MBA….so is it good for girls….and which is better for me distance MBA or full time Pharma MBA.

    • Hello Vanita,

There is nothing discriminating for Boys or Girls. It’s your personal choice. Pharma MBA is equally good for girls. Full time MBA will anytime be a better choice. It depends on your time availability also.

      Kumud Kandpal

  126. Hello sir, I am Bsc biotechnology graduate student .so was now working in microbiologist in pharma lab to suggest to MBA pharma are which option to choose to me .and Future any scope in these my carrier to plz suggest that me

    • Mayur,

Pharma MBA will have more opportunities into Sales and marketing, Analytics, Research , much different sphere of work which you are currently doing. Pharma MBA doesn’t have any further option. M.Pharma is also an another option.

      Kumud Kandpal

    • Surajit,
After BBA in hospital management, your first preference should be to do mba in hospital management. That would complete your graduation and will provide you more opportunity . MBA Pharmaceutical is also a good option. You will have more scope into sales and marketing of pharmaceutical products.

      Best wishes
